When was the last time you were at a jammed-packed airport? Hard to remember, right? Nearly 1.5 million domestic flights a year were wiped from the skies between 2007 and 2012, leaving airports strapped for cash.
Bloomberg’s Alix Steel (@adsteel) got a look at some unconventional and non-aviation ways airports are trying to make money — fracking at Pittsburgh International Airport, Solar panels in San Francisco and Wind turbines in Boston.
