Julián Castro, who served as Housing and Urban Development secretary under President Barack Obama, said he will decide by the end of the year whether to run for the White House in 2020.
Castro’s comments came during an interview on C-Span on Tuesday.
“After November and before the end of the year I will make a decision about my own future,” Castro said. “I’m going to think about it.
“I don’t see an administration right now that is moving the United States ahead in the 21st Century the way that it needs to. I think it is making us less safe. I believe it is doing a great injustice to the potential of so many people in this country.”
The Hill noted Castro had once been considered as a possible running mate for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
