President Donald Trump made an unscheduled visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday to check on the health of his wife, Melania.
It hasn’t gotten much attention in the mainstream media — except when it’s used, sadly, to slam the president in one way or another.
The president left aboard Marine One to make the unscheduled visit to see the first lady, as reported by CBS News.
Melania Trump underwent successful surgery to treat a benign kidney condition at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Monday.
She’s expected to leave the hospital at the end of this week.
In a tweet, the president provided an update on the first lady’s prognosis on Tuesday: “Our great First Lady is doing really well. Will be leaving hospital in 2 or 3 days. Thank you for so much love and support!”
Trump also said that she’s “doing really well. She’s watching us right now … She sends her love.”
As LifeZette reported earlier, the president visited with the first lady and her doctor prior to her surgical procedure. Trump also visited Melania after her procedure on Monday evening and he thanked the American people for their good wishes.
“The procedure was successful and there were no complications,” the White House said in a statement.
“Mrs. Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely remain there for the duration of the week. The first lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere,” the statement continued.
The great majority of Americans are wishing the first lady nothing but a speedy recovery.
While Melania Trump’s surgery has been a success — naturally detractors have said they wish that weren’t the case.
Others criticized the president for not making more time to visit the first lady. Thankfully, the great majority of Americans are wishing the first lady nothing but a speedy recovery.
