You’re out of your mind if you think LeBron James still has anything left to prove now that he’s with the Lakers.
I was watching FS1 this morning, and I noticed they were discussing LeBron’s legacy. Specifically, they discussed the following quotation recently published on ESPN’s website.
A source close to the NBA legend told ESPN, “Unlike most free agents changing teams, LeBron is arriving with the Lakers as an all-time great. He doesn’t have pressure to prove anything. He wants some changes, and he can afford to let the process breathe.” (RELATED: LEBRON JAMES SIGNS WITH THE LAKERS)
Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and say a man who has won three titles, been to nine finals, has made more than $200 million on the court and absolutely dominated has nothing left to prove to anybody.
How big of a clown do you need to be in order to think King James has anything to prove to anybody? This is really just people reaching for stories. Will it help his legacy if he wins a title or two in Los Angeles? Yes, it will obviously help his legacy, but it’s already one of the greatest ever. Not winning more rings will have no impact at all on that fact.
Personally, I think LeBron winning a title in Los Angeles would be great. Winning titles with three different teams, and it will make the heads of his haters explode. That alone will provide more than enough entertainment value to make all of this worth it.
