President Donald Trump has sent a text to voters in Kansas urging them to get out and cast a vote for Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach for governor in the Republican primary, which takes place on Tuesday.
“This is President Trump,” reads the text, according to The Hill. “I need every Kansan to vote Kris Kobach for Governor. Strong on Crime, Border & Military! Polls close at 7p. Voting Info @ www.vote.gop”
The message comes one day after Trump endorsed Kobach, who is running against Republican incumbent Gov. Jeff Colyer. Trump’s tweet marked the first time the president has endorsed a candidate running against a GOP incumbent in a primary.
Kris Kobach, a strong and early supporter of mine, is running for Governor of the Great State of Kansas. He is a fantastic guy who loves his State and our Country – he will be a GREAT Governor and has my full & total Endorsement! Strong on Crime, Border & Military. VOTE TUESDAY!
