Kneeling And Raised Fists During The National Anthem Mark First Preseason NFL Games

Multiple players continued their protests during the national anthem as the first week of preseason games kicked off on Thursday evening.

Some players knelt, others held fists in the air and one walked out of the tunnel during the anthem.

The Philadelphia Eagles, the reigning Super Bowl champions, had multiple players protest during the anthem. Malcolm Jenkins and De’Vante Bausby raised their fists during the anthem on Thursday. Jenkins has done this for the past two seasons. His teammate Chris Long wrapped his arm around Jenkins, like he did all of last year.

The Super Bowl champs had their traditional visit to the White House cancelled over this issue.

The Miami Dolphins’ Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson kneeled during the Star-Spangled Banner, according to the Miami Herald. Their teammate Robert Quinn raised his fist.

Miami was one of many teams that had multiple players kneel during last season as well.

The NFL is still trying to figure out a policy to settle the issue of the protests but the NFL and NFLPA have been unable to come to a resolution that both parties find acceptable.
