Special counsel Robert Mueller has subpoenaed New York comedian and radio show host Randy Credico to to testify before a grand jury in the Russia probe next month.
Credico is the man political strategist Roger Stone claimed was his back-door connection to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during the 2016 presidential election,
“My speculation is that they probably want to talk to him about Roger Stone and Julian Assange,” Credico’s attorney, Martin Stolar, told CNN, although he said it’s unclear what Mueller’s team intends to ask his client.
He added that Credico received the subpoena Thursday and intends to comply and testify on Sept. 7.
Credico previously turned down a request from the special counsel’s team for a voluntary interview, but CNN reported he may still agree for a sit-down meeting.
On Friday, another close associate of Stone’s, Andrew Miller, was held in contempt of court after refusing to appear before Mueller’s grand jury, his attorney Paul Kamenar confirmed Friday.
