RNC Spot Uses 'Billy Madison' Scene to Mock Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

The Republican National Committee Friday used clips from a 1995 Adam Sandler movie to mock New York Democratic socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s recent interviews.

The video starts out by ridiculing the claims by Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez that Ocasio-Cortez is the “future” of his party, and then shows the Democratic nominee from New York’s 14th Congressional District making statements about several issues.

The clips are mixed in with a scene from Sandler’s movie “Billy Madison,” where a high school principal insults the comedian’s character for his outlandish answer to a question.

“Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard,” the scene goes. “At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
