The Congressional Leadership Fund is set to launch a television ad accusing Gil Cisneros, a Democrat House candidate in California, of being a sexual harasser who invested money in Iran, the Washington Examiner is reporting.
The CLF is a super PAC aligned with House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis. The ad is scheduled to hit the Los Angeles television market on Wednesday. It targets Cisneros, a philanthropist backed by money he won in the lottery. Cisneros is battling Republican Young Kim for the seat in California’s 39th Congressional District. The seat is being vacated by Republican Ed Royce, who is retiring.
According to the Examiner, the ad opens with a narrator asking, “what would you do if you won $200 million in the lottery?”
The website said the narrator goes on to say: “Gil Cisneros invested tens of thousands in companies doing business in Iran – a country that brags about killing Americans. And hundreds of thousands in companies that evade paying their taxes – ripping off taxpayers.
“Now Cisneros has been accused of sexual harassment by a prominent Democrat.”
According to the Examiner it ends with the narrator claiming Cisneros “can’t be trusted.”
Cisneros has previously pushed back against the harassment claims, saying they were provably “false allegations,” The Washington Free Beacon noted in May.
