Roger Stone Predicts Trump Jr. Will Be Indicted for 'Lying to the FBI'

Political operative and longtime President Donald Trump ally Roger Stone thinks the president’s eldest son will be indicted for “lying to the FBI.”

The stunning prediction came during an interview with The Political Insider posted last Friday.

“I [predict], based on excellent sourcing, that the special counsel [Robert Mueller] is going to charge Donald Trump Jr. with lying to the FBI,” Stone told James Miller of the conservative online outlet.

“Notice they’re not charging him for having an illegal meeting with a Russian at Trump Tower because there’s nothing illegal about that meeting.”

“[P]ut more precisely, the only thing illegal about that meeting was how the woman got in the country, how she got a visa from the Obama State Department, and why she was meeting with an official from Fusion GPS before and after the Trump Tower meeting.”

In June 2016, Trump Jr. and other members of the campaign met at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer who was expected to offer damaging information on then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The meeting reportedly piqued Mueller’s interest as he probes potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Trump Jr. has testified before Congress, however it is unknown to what extent he has cooperated with federal prosecutors in connection with the probe, The Washington Examiner noted.
