There could be an outbreak of violence across the nation if the Republican Party loses control of one or both chambers of Congress in the November elections, President Donald Trump told evangelical leaders at the White House Monday night, according to NBC News.
“The level of hatred, the level of anger is unbelievable. Part of it is because of some of the things I’ve done for you and for me and for my family, but I’ve done them,” Trump said.
“This Nov. 6 election is very much a referendum on not only me, it’s a referendum on your religion, it’s a referendum on free speech and the First Amendment.”
Trump warned that if the GOP loses control of Congress, “they will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently. There’s violence. When you look at Antifa and you look at some of these groups — these are violent people.”
Last week, meanwhile, Trump said the stock market could plummet if Democrats take control of the House and move to impeach him.
“I will tell you what, if I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash. I think everybody would be very poor because without this thinking, you would see numbers that you wouldn’t believe in reverse,” he said.
