TrTrump administration officials who reportedly criticized the president in Bob Woodward’s upcoming book should go find another job, Rudy Giuliani, one of President Donald Trump’s lawyers, told CNBC on Tuesday.
“If they said it, they should be questioning why they are there,” Giuliani said. “Why don’t they go get another job? That’s the kind of disloyalty that leads to you leaving, not staying and undermining the president.”
Woodward’s book, “Fear,” which is due to hit stores on September 11, recounts in great detail how Trump’s national security team was dumbfounded by his lack of curiosity and knowledge about international affairs and his disdain for the mainstream views of military and intelligence leaders, according to The Washington Post.
The book includes demining quotes from numerous officials, including White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Secretary of Defense James Mattis.
Giuliani told CNBC that many of the events described in the book occurred before he joined the president’s legal team. In addition, several top officials quoted in the book have already left the administration.
Giuliani also tried to cast doubt on the credibility of the book.
The former New York mayor said that since he’s been working for Trump he has not heard of Woodward gaining access to the White House. He added that during debriefings with his predecessor, John Dowd, he was never told about the numerous interactions that are described in the book, between Trump, Dowd, Jay Sekulow and members of Robert Mueller’s special counsel team.
