The leftist hysteria created by talk of invoking the 25th Amendment to stage a coup of President Donald Trump is merely an overreaction to Plan C as the president’s political opposition continues to come up short, Michael Reagan, the son of former President Ronald Reagan, told Newsmax TV.
“This is the newest mantra coming from the left, if you will: ‘Can’t get him on collusion, can’t get him on obstruction of justice, how about let’s go after the 25th Amendment, try and get him with the 25th Amendment,'” Reagan told Monday’s “America Talks Live.” “This is now the new direction they’re going to go – and, remember, they tried that with my father back in the 1980s.
“So, this is not new with people disagreeing with the president of the United States and working in the White House.”

Reagan was responding to the news of hashtag #TFA being bandied about by anonymous White House aides, as reported by disgruntled Omarosa Manigault Newman, who was fired year and wrote a scathing rebuke of her former boss, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.”
Even if there was disagreement in the White House, the hysteria over it is overblown and merely a latest attempt to discredit the president and sow discord in America, Reagan told hosts Miranda Khan, John Cardillo, and Dr. Gina Loudon.
“Does everyone think the history of this country started when they got up this morning?” Reagan ridiculed. “We have lived this before.”
Reagan also rejected the notion his father is “rolling over in his grave” over the latest palace intrigue attacks, saying “actually, he’s probably digging at this point in time.”
Reagan, author of “Lessons My Father Taught Me: The Strength, Integrity, and Faith of Ronald Reagan,” did admit his father would have handled administration betrayal reports differently than President Trump.
“My father wasn’t thin-skinned,” Reagan said. “This president is very thin-skinned each and every day.”
