Business news

Apple Inc. has acquired Southern California virtual-reality startup NextVR, according to multiple reports Thursday. 9to6Mac first reported the deal, and Apple later confirmed it to Bloomberg News. NextVR provides live content, such as sports and concerts, for VR headsets. “NextVR is heading in a new direction,” the company’s website said Thursday, though it did not name Apple.
