URGENT: BOJ may keep support for pandemic-hit firms beyond March: Kuroda

The Bank of Japan will consider extending beyond the end of March its emergency support measures for companies facing financial difficulties amid the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said Wednesday.Kuroda made the remarks in a press conference held after a virtual meeting with business managers in Osaka, western Japan. Earlier in the day, he agreed with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga to maintain close communication and coordination in guiding monetary policy.
