Man linked to extremist killing of German politician released

A man accused of being an accessory in the suspected right-wing extremist murder of German politician Walter Luebcke has been released from custody, in a blow to prosecutors.The decision was made on Thursday by the higher regional court in Frankfurt, where the co-defendant, identified as Markus H, is standing trial alongside suspected killer Stephan Ernst.The court said it found no solid grounds to continue to keep Markus H behind bars.Luebcke was shot in the head while standing on his porch in June 2019, sparking an outcry across Germany and fuelling concerns of a rise in right-wing extremism…
