Apple Released $1.8 Billion in 1st Payment of Disputed EU Tax

Apple (AAPL) has released 1.5 billion euros ($1.8 billion) to a special account set up by the government of Ireland. It represents Apple’s first payment of the 13 billion euros in disputed taxes, according to a Reuters report. Ireland expects to collect all the disputed taxes by the end of the third quarter.
