Baseball: No former players elected to Hall of Fame

The voters for the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame have swung and missed, failing to enshrine a single former player for the first time in 23 years, the museum announced Thursday. However, two new Hall of Famers were selected by the special committee: Katsuji Kawashima, the manager of Japan’s Atlanta Olympic team, and nonfiction author Kazuo Sayama.
