Bill Madden: Sorry, Curt Schilling (and Barry Bonds), but what the Hall of Fame really needs this year is a shutout

NEW YORK — Tuesday, the Hall of Fame will announce the results of the 2021 election and in the name of Hank Aaron, I’d really like to see the Baseball Writers Association hurl a shutout. To say the least, it was not a particularly appealing ballot given the fact that, based on last year’s voting, Curt Schilling, Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds were the leading candidates.
