Covid claims 100,000 lives in Mideast: AFP tally

A total of 100,000 people have died in the Middle East after contracting Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic in December 2019, according to an AFP tally at 0800 GMT on Thursday based on official data. In all, 4,991,770 people in the region have tested positive for the new coronavirus.
