Czech army begins building Prague field hospital as caseload swells

The Czech army on Monday began construction of a temporary field hospital in an exhibition hall in the capital Prague.A first convoy of 29 vehicles and around 165 tons of medical supplies arrived in Prague, with more transports set to follow throughout the week, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.The auxiliary hospital with a capacity of 500 beds is to serve as a reserve in case the health system is overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients.The field hospital is expected to be equipped with an operating room, an intensive care unit, a pharmacy, a laboratory and X-ray machines.The Czech Repub…
