Democracy at 'all-time low' following coronavirus pandemic driven by authoritarian regimes in the MENA

The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 has dealt a hard blow to democracy, with the Middle East falling even further towards authoritarianism, according to The Economist’s annual Democracy Index report.
