Eckhoff wins women's World Cup sprint, Boe brothers clinch podium

Norway’s Tiril Eckhoff claimed victory, while Norwegian brothers Johannes Thingnes and Tarjei Boe went one-two in the first biathlon World Cup competition of the new year on Friday in Oberhof, Germany. Eckhoff, the 2014 mixed relay Olympic champion was flawless on two visits to the shooting range and clocked 23 minutes 54.0 seconds in the women’s 7.5-kilometre sprint race.
