England enters third national lockdown as number of virus cases surge

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a third national lockdown for England after a rise in the number of cases of the novel coronavirus. From Tuesday, schools must close, with measures expected to stay in place until mid-February. However nurseries will remain open as will schools for parents who are “key workers,” such as medics, Johnson announced.
