Gisin ends Shffrin/Vlhova slalom hegemony; Cochran-Siegle also wins

Michelle Gisin gave Switzerland a first women’s slalom victory in almost 19 years on Tuesday as she ended the four-year hegemony of Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova in the discipline in Austria. Olympic combined event champion Gisin claimed her first World Cup victory in Semmering, Austria ahead of local racer Katharina Liensberger and American star Shiffrin.
