Hillary Clinton will make appearances at three fundraisers for the Democratic National Committee, NBC News is reporting.
Planned DNC events in San Francisco, Chicago and New York will feature the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, according to the network news. All three are scheduled before the November elections.
The appearances are billed as “intimate dinners and discussions.” NBC News also reported Clinton plans to make appearances for some women running for Congress, as well.
“There has never been a more important midterm election, and Secretary Clinton is going to do her part to lift up the next generation of leaders,” said her spokesman Nick Merrill.
Clinton had not provided any details about individual candidates she may campaign for.
Meanwhile, Republicans welcomed the news that Clinton is stepping back into the limelight, the network news reported. They hope to tie her to Democrats running in GOP-leaning states and districts. And NBC News noted she has already been featured in Republican campaign ads this year.
“The longer a scandal-plagued Hillary Clinton lingers in American politics, the worse off House Democrats will be,” said Jesse Hunt, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
The RNC raised a record-breaking $14.2 million in July. It now holds more than a $100 million edge over its Democratic counterparts.
