Imperious Kosgei wins second straight London Marathon

Berlin (dpa) World record holder Brigit Kosgei of Kenya smashed the field to win back-to-back women’s titles at the London Marathon on Sunday.Kosgei, 26, clocked 2 hours 18 minutes 58 seconds on a cloudy and wet morning to beat second-placed American Sara Hall by a massive 3:03 minutes.Hall ran past world champion Ruth Chepngetich of Kenya in the closing stages, with Chepngetich placing third another four seconds back.Kosgei’s winning time was almost five minutes slower than the world record 2:14:04 she ran last year in Chicago, and she took 38 seconds longer than in her 2019 victory in London…
