Initial results show Rutte's party as winner of Dutch election

Acting Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s party has won the most seats in the country’s general election, according to preliminary results late on Wednesday. According to initial forecasts on broadcaster NOS, Rutte’s centre-right People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy has won about 23 per cent of the vote. With 36 seats, it is by far the strongest force in the House of Representatives.
