Italian prime minister in Beirut for talks with Lebanese officials

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte arrived in Beirut on Tuesday for talks with Lebanese officials and a visit to his country’s battalion with the UN peacekeeping mission UNIFIL.Conte will start the two-day visit by touring Beirut’s port, the site of the August 4 blast that killed 190 people and wounded 6,000.He will visit the Italian ship that transported aid to Beirut’s firefighters as well as the Italian field hospital on the outskirts of the capital.Conte is scheduled to hold talks with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, House Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister-designate Mustapha Adib.I…
