Italy's ski slopes to remain closed through peak season

Italy has become Europe’s latest ski holiday destination to turn away travellers seeking a winter sports retreat, with the country’s slopes now set to remain closed until January 6. Similar orders have been issued in other European countries, and Germany’s ski lifts, cable cars and the associated catering facilities are not allowed to open during the country’s ongoing shutdown, due to remain in force into the new year.
