Leverkusen miss chance to go top, Union Berlin flying high

Bayer Leverkusen’s title hopes took another blow on Saturday as they again lost a lead to fall 2-1 away to Eintracht Frankfurt as the Bundesliga resumed after the winter break. Second-placed Leverkusen lost for the first time in the season by the same score to Bayern Munich in their last match of 2020 and started 2021 in similar fashion two weeks later.
