No skiing as Bormio and Semmering races hit by bad weather

A men’s super-G race in Italy was postponed and a women’s giant slalom cancelled ahead of the second run as adverse weather hit the alpine skiing World Cup on Monday. The men’s race in Bormio fell victim to heavy snowfall and is now to take place on Tuesday, with that day’s downhill pushed back to Wednesday, the ruling body FIS said. In Semmering, the women were unable to contest their second run because of high winds which battered the course and among other damage blew down finish area barriers.
