The event took place in Iowa, where Ocasio-Cortez campaigned on behalf of Sanders, who she recently endorsed. The video of her yelling “Who here is ready for the revolution?” was posted on Twitter by Sanders’ campaign.

What kind of revolution? Most critics presumed that the congresswoman, who identifies as a socialist Democrats, is calling for a socialist revolution and prompted some to invoke the revolution in Cuba.

Worth noting: Democrats who say they’re socialist Democrats often point to the ones in Europe, given that according to some polls, socialism isn’t as popular among Americans, including those of Latin American ancestry. A recent Telemundo national poll found that 62% of Latinos said they wouldn’t vote for a socialist presidential candidate.

Their policies, however, say otherwise, writes Giancarlo Sopo for The Blaze. “For instance, both of them [Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez] have called for “public ownership” of private property and nationalizing key industries, for instance. Additionally, her Green New Deal, which is co-sponsored by five presidential candidates, promises to eliminate nuclear power and ban internal combustion engine vehicles in 10 years.”
