Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) started a two-day party conference on Saturday, accompanied by an anti-racist demonstration and a large police presence.Some 500 anti-racism demonstrators gathered in the far-western town of Kalkar near the Dutch border, where the convention is taking place on a former power plant site in the Wunderland Kalkar amusement park.Legislators of almost all other German parties spoke at the demonstration, which was called by the organization Stand Up Against Racism.
