Report: Mueller Gives Tony Podesta Immunity to Testify Against Manafort

Russia special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly offered top Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta, brother of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, immunity for testifying against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.

Citing “two separate sources,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson disclosed Thursday that Podesta “has been offered immunity by Robert Mueller to testify against Paul Manafort.

“For a near identical crime, Bill and Hillary [Clinton’s] friend could escape and emerge completely unscathed, while Paul Manafort may rot in jail,” he said on his program.

“Only one of them made the mistake of chairing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”

Podesta, 74, co-founder of the Podesta Group lobbying firm with his brother, worked with Manafort’s consulting firm in 2012 to help a pro-Russian nonprofit led by former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

Manafort was indicted in October by Mueller’s prosecutors on federal charges related to his work for the group, the Party of Regions, and faces life in prison.

He is to be tried later this month — and remains in jail in Northern Virginia after a federal judge revoked his house arrest last month.

Manafort has not been charged with any crimes related to his work for the Trump campaign.

Carlson slammed the idea that Manafort had been charged but not Podesta for engaging in similar foreign activities.

“Federal laws ought to be enforced,” he said. “Unlike the Left, we actually believe that.

“But they must be enforced equally or they are not laws at all,” Carlson added. “They are political cudgels and tools of social control.”
