Bayern Munich and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has been named the best men’s player in 2020 at a FIFA awards ceremony. The 32-year-old Lewandowski was top scorer in each competition won by Bayern last season as they swept a Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League treble. He ends 2020 with 41 goals in the calendar year. Lewandowski is only the second player, alongside Croatia’s Luka Modric, to break the Cristiano Ronaldo/Lionel Messi duopoly of the best men’s player award in the last 12 years. The award was decided by votes from coaches, captains, journalists and fans.
