Russian human rights activists condemn mass arrests of protesters

Human rights activists in Russia on Monday condemned the mass arrests of protesters attending rallies in support of jailed dissident Alexei Navalny. More than 5,100 demonstrators remained in police custody in at least 87 cities across Russia the rights portal OVD said overnight to Monday.
