
Japan will host the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2021, holding it with seven teams as usual rather than under the expanded format that had been eyed for a now-postponed event in China, the FIFA Council said Friday during an online meeting. FIFA had planned to hold a revamped Club World Cup comprised of 24 teams in June and July next year in China, but the event was postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
