Thousands of people petition to have LeBron James replace Betsy DeVos as secretary of education

The people have spoken — and they want King James.

As of Thursday morning, more than 10,000 people have signed a petition demanding that LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers replace Betsy DeVos as the U.S. Secretary of Education. The numbers grow by the hour.

Here’s how the Care2 petition explains the differences between the two candidates:

James recently opened his I Promise school, which will serve predominantly low-income students in Akron, Ohio. The school provides job placement services for their parents as well as free college tuition for graduates.

DeVos, meanwhile, recently came under fire for news that one of her family’s many yachts appears to have been registered illegally in the Cayman Islands, despite being used in Michigan.

You chose who you want running U.S. schools. (Well, technically President Donald Trump chooses, but who cares about the details?)
