U.K., European Union ink trade deal

The United Kingdom and the European Union on Wednesday signed a post-Brexit free trade agreement, completing the final procedure for the country’s departure from the single currency bloc. The deal sees the United Kingdom maintain tariff-free access in goods to the EU. Speaking in the House of Commons, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “Those of us who campaigned for Britain to leave the EU never sought a rupture with our closest neighbors.” EU member states and their parliament have approved the deal.
