U.S. adds 245,000 nonfarm jobs in Nov., jobless rate falls to 6.7%

The U.S. economy created a lower-than-expected 245,000 nonfarm jobs in November, while the unemployment rate edged down 0.2 percentage point from the previous month to 6.7 percent, Labor Department data showed Friday. Growth in nonfarm payrolls was far below the market consensus of an increase of about 469,000 jobs. The reading also signals that the pace of improvement in the labor market has moderated amid a resurgence of the novel coronavirus.
