Villanova beats Butler, 85-66, in home opener for Jay Wright’s 600th career win

VILLANOVA, Pa. — Butler certainly didn’t look like a team that hadn’t played a basketball game in three weeks, coming out into an empty Finneran Pavilion and taking it to Villanova for most of the snowy night. The seventh-ranked Wildcats played with the lead for much of the game but had to work for the first 35 minutes.
