White Sox agree to 1-year deals with Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez, avoiding arbitration with both pitchers

CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox avoided arbitration with pitchers Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez, coming to terms on one-year deals with both pitchers on Friday. Giolito and the Sox agreed to a $4.15 million deal while Lopez signed a $2.1 million contract. Giolito, the team’s ace, went 4-3 with a 3.48 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 12 starts in 2020.
